One hour Ancient & Medieval skirmish rules game

As a big fan of the One hour skirmish war games rules by John Lambshead, I was very excited at the next book, Ancient and Medieval skirmish, And ordered a copy the instant it was available.
After a read through and  study of the new ideas , I played  a test game, to my mind it did not work the card decks ran through too fast and the combat seemed wrong, not deterred i then played about 5-7 more games using my collection, the end result was  again not right, what was i doing wrong?. On the face book page i commented and saw others had the same problem, after thinking hard about the  rules to which i found to be fun and gave a result I decided to return and take a scenario out of the book and use only the forces laid out by the scenario, the adventures of Robin Hood scenario 4, the Tax collectors cart was to be fought over by Robin and the Sheriff of Nottingham, laying out my table and sorted the  miniatures, my AOS fantasy sets seemed to have all I required some  GW but most were 3D printed by Russell. and all fitted nice into the Scenario.

The game played very well with the  peasants controlling the cart till the Sheriff turned up and took over moving it back to his start line, the card deck this time I decided to play till 3 jokers were turned and it worked, also having the stat lines and weapons on one page eased all the game play. The merry men had a firefight with the crossbow men and the poor peasants were wiped out, little John fell to a crossbow bolt, and  in the end the morale of Robins men failed so victory to the Sheriff, on counting the  scenario points the  Sheriff had 20 to Robins 0 so a definite result, the game worked  and was fun so  the moral is never give up on something you know works. More games to follow, be safe my friends
