Many of you know I have a vast collection of miniatures and of late I have been trying to game with some forgotten pieces, using rules I enjoy or again forgotten.
My DUNE collection is one of my favorites 3d prints from Skull forge games, printed by my Son Russel and James Patterson. I have always liked the rules by Daniel Mersey so the Xenos Rampant by him and Richard Cowen, seemed to fit well.
24 points each side, I compiled lists of the two side, a few alterations from the book on the units, looked good.
4x4 table and the scenario kilo, VIP extraction was rolled on the charts. decent desert terrain.
The Mad Baron has is transport hit by a Freemen missile he escapes in a force field and lands in the dunes, his forces along with Imperial Sardaukar rush to find him, the Freemen scramble to find the prize...
I always randomly roll set up sides both forces seeking to contact the Baron and be under there control.
The Barons units made to the location the Harkonans and Sardaukar making through the rocks , the Freemen moving faster tried to take him first.Rolls found the Harkonans locate him they staved off the Freemen who charged into them, the Sardaukar outflanking the fast moving Freemen. the contact was fast and bloody, the Freemen tried hard but were pushed back loosing units as the Harkonans rushed the Baron to the safety of the rocks, the Freemen were cut down and fell back unable to capture the Mad Baron. Victory to the bad guys...
Very fast game loads of roll that turned things and some that did nothing, great set of rules if you want to make specialist games with your collection. Enjoyable and fun, be safe my friends.....
