Brutality test game

 

I  purchased the full rules after getting the free copy of the face book page https://www.facebook.com/groups/brutalityskirmishwargame, it is written by Scott Wainwright, and is set in a  dimension of  lost heroes and villains along with other unfriendly things, a small skirmish game with for me great potential, you can use anything!, and perhaps the stranger the more enjoyable. I read and re-read and decided to give it a test solo game. using only the basic stats against an AI of the same stats, the rules are very well explained and after  time i would say most things come easy, a D10 combat and activation rule, all  easy to work. I constructed my  heroes and villains . the first mission is to protect some  loot and stop the enemy taking or killing your team, (in this universe when you die you wake up where you last woke up all the same)

My 3x3 table set out the heroes in the center

Swan the support and Sif the melee

Grifter a ranged and Silk the  fast also in the center

Turn 1 

Silk goes for it charging  the Baroness who is hurt along with Silk 

As she backs off the baroness shoots her down (yes its Brutal)

Element girl dives into cover only to have Sif come from no where and hit her hard

Mobius enemy support  blasts Swan from afar

She is struck and is killed

Grifter empties his pistols into Mobius

as he turns Mad Harriet charges and take him out in a flurry of blows

Element girl charges into Sif again but runs onto the warriors Blade and is killed

Sif look around all her party down she charges Mad Harriet 

Blows are struck and Harriet dispatches Sif my team have lost, 4 to 3 points

Great fun fast game the wound chart makes a great addition as you suffer and it  makes a story of the game, will press on and try the next Scenario, very  well done Scott. it is what a game should be to me FUN. 10/10

 

Grom, Thalla and the Black goat of the Woods

My hands and eyes are failing so I  spend alot more time on fewer miniatures I paint, I do a bit them come back, and  select and buy things I know will not over work.

At last I got 2 miniatures I have wanted for quite a time zombiecide black plague, exclusives Grom and Thalla, we know who they relay are?, perhaps some of the best miniatures I have ever painted. Just amazing.

I have every set of the "Death may die" game, I at last started to paint some up the Black goat of the woods box, as always fantastic miniatures and a world I like very much.

 

Defend against the Un-Dead, A Nightwatch game

The second scenario in the Night wish campaign involves defending a camp  and Derick the   mule guard against and attack by the enemy

Laid out my table to my  liking 

Derick the Mule guard holds information and must die this night

Placed in the centre of the  camp if the  Hunters die then so does he.

Placed the party in the best positions i could see and awaited the onslaught

2 hirelings with bows and one fighter

Eya finds the best place to take out the  enemy


the left is first to be attacked the bow men  trying to cut the odds down

Eya is eushed by a zombie

Leven aids a bow man tossing her grenados at the advancing Un-dead

Crom aids Eya his axe swinging but more  enemies advance

he fights one alone as the   vermin attack

Leven takes out a zombie with her dagger giving her room to throw her grenados and the bow man  to shoot

Crom faces more Zombies Eya trying to take them out before it comes to close and personal
Alan is attacked his spell disintegrating the zombie


As Crom is suffering and wounded the axe man helps and Eya fights hand to hand to save her friend

Leven throws a grenado dispatching the advancing enemy

Alan free of the left side casts into the  now massing Un dead

a bow man take out a single Zombie

Eya is fighting for her life now

The Skeletons are now in the camp and the hunters under pressure

A bow man faces the enemy alone

Leven heals Crom as Eya fends off a zombie

the bow man falls

Deadly hand to hand now as the  Un Dead swamp the hunters

Single bow men are  marked out, as dawn approaches , the  Un dead dwindle and the night is over


Only lost 1 bow man hireling, and  did the scenario,
As the last game it does get very tense late into the rounds, the relentless enemy's will get you if you don't  take them out And also the Mage and Alchemist paid there way, the spells and grenados saving the day. very happy with the game and  recommended for   people who like to fight things!

 

"Hell Road" Nightwatch game

 I eagerly awaited trying out the new Nightwatch game from Patrick Todoroff available from Drive through games. A solo cooperative wargame of  terror and treasures in a dark world. you select a party of hunters to complete  tasks and  scenarios, they must face mounting horrors as the game turns proceed.

My hunters  from left to right Crom the Blades man, Eya the Hunter, leven the  Alchemist and Alan the Macer. they were all imitates and had purchased 3 hirelings to help them, the scenario was number 1 Escort a lone survivor of a Caravan to a nearby town.

Laid the board out with the  portals and the  terrain.

The hunters start and must navigate to the other corner

Turn 1 the Vermin move to stop them

Crom and Eya go forward to clear the way

Alan is jumped by vermin and almost falls

A bowman hireling is attacked

Magic and  blades cut down the first wave

More vermin charge into the  Hunters

Crom clears them with his mighty axe

Leven throws her Grenados  causing much damage to the advancing vermin

as the game turns mount the horde arrives this is going to be bad

The portals spew forth Vermin and Horde who  charge and over whelm the back section of the hunters

A hiring is killed and another dragged into battle

Leven faces the undead and  tosses her wares into the  advancing foes, blast zones  cut them  up

Alan and leven stand back to back fending off the advancing horde and vermin

anther hirling is taken down as the pair  cast and throw, the undead still advance 

The  forward hunters are about to be over run when Alan casts Elemental fury, blasting them to hell where they belong

The pair are surrounded all hope is lost?

At last the hunters reach the end and escape  first scenario in the Bag

Wonderful game , easy to remember and is very  hard to get right, blades and bows are ok but spells and Grenados are  fantastic. I recommend  one of each type as a party. the  foes will get you and  health does go down fast so healing is a must. the horde instantly add a new larger threat to the party.
